Name Areas After Tortuguardes
If you want to misuse yourself, I will help you misuse yourself further. – Warri saying.
This saying is usually directed at those who are willful in their habitual decadence. There is no one more difficult to correct than those who lost their way decades ago.
MORIBUND CONVENTION
If the Tortuguardes-in-Council (TiC) want to make the Pyrates Confraternity rabidly pro-moribund convention we must aid them to do it better. The proclamation “Sworn Enemy of Convention” is now a lie. A bold-faced deception of the public.
One of the most moribund things in the world today is the existence of ruling titled aristocrats. In this case old aged self-styled jumped-up Commoners. The House of Lords, full of titled peers as the upper house of parliament in the UK, was reformed. That system reeked of obscene privilege. In other parts of the aristocrats and emperors no longer exist.
Somehow, the TiC have decided that they, as titled peers, must rule the Pyrates of the National Association of Seadogs till they die. It compares well with the gerontocracy of the Soviet Union or France which contributed to their downfall.
MODERNITY?
Why do the Pyrates not have a modern upper house? Why? Most Tortuguardes were so wicked while in power. Seadogs would rather vote against them than for them. Many overlords lack the resources to enter and win free and fair elections.
Thus, they must hang on their seats with their dear lives. Take away their titles and most will fall into irrelevance.
The republic is a major achievement of modern life. Educated men must know that.
Still the Pyrates choose an emperor as leader. The elected chief executive and his council are mere errand boys.
CHALLENGES FOR TIC
The Tortuguardes do not go far enough. The following acts will embellish their powers further through convention.
First, the village tyrants should have areas withing the fraternity named after themselves. Then, they should receive cash tributes from the areas under their title.
Second, the special ones should wear purple cassocks not purple waistcoats. Their superiority over common Pyrates must be both visual and ceremonial.
Third, common Pyrates must address them as “Your Eminence” or “Your Grace” before uttering their names.
And they must restore confidence in the fraternity. It needs its own sovereign identity. Pyrates particularly the TiC now define their identities by other outside fraternities they belong to.
If Pyrates have the time and energy to join two or more fraternities, fine. Feeling better peers for doing so tells a story. The Confraternity is too small a player in the world. Or it is unworthy. What a reality.
CONCLUSION
If they don’t retire themselves, time will do it better. And time does not respect purple waistcoats
Be good, not lucky
